Objective: To compare in vitro the antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extract of Propolis of Apis mellifera 1,5%, Morinda citrifolia extract 6% and calcium hydroxide used as intracanal endodontic medication on dentin infected blocks with a strain of Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212. Material and Methods: Infected samples were prepared with Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 2921 and tested for sterility, later exposed to Propolis, Morinda and calcium hydroxide, the bacterial growth was evaluated through the Colony Forming Units (CFU) at 48 and 72 hours. A descriptive analysis was performed, as well as a analytical by means of Student’s T-test and ANOVA test. Results: In vitro, the Propolis extract presented a total of CFU at 48 hours of 4.15 x 10-4 and at the 72 hours of 3.35 x 10-4 , the extract of Morinda reported a total CFU at 48 hours of 4.33 x 10-4 and at the 72 hours of 4.76 x 10-4 and the calcium hydroxide indicated a total of UFC at 48 hours of 8.27 x 10-4 and at the 72 hours of 7.79 x 10-4 . Conclusions: In vitro, both ethanolic extract of propolis 1.5% and Morinda Citrifolia extract 6% show antibacterial activity statistically significant compared to Calcium Hydroxide paste on Dentin Blocks infected with E. Faecalis ATCC 29212 in 48 and 72 hours.
