The present research seeks to determine what is the relationship between the jealousy of men perceived by their wives or cohabitants with the psychological abuse toward them in Peru. The study used the secondary database taken by ENARES, 2019, which is available in the public forum of the National Institute Statics and Informatics (INEI in Spanish). A basic level was used and the study design is correlational cross-sectional. The test was made up of 1150 women from all over Peru whose ages were 18 and older and married or cohabitants with a male. The instrument used to measure both variables was section IV of the Questionnaire aimed at women of 18 years-old and older from ENARES, 2019. The results showed a significant correlation of moderate and positive intensity between male jealousy perceived by their wives or cohabitants with the psychological abuse toward them, making use of the Spearman´s Rho correlation coefficient (Rho=0,49). By analyzing descriptively at the national level, it was obtained that 42,3% of women have perceived jealousy from their husbands or cohabitants and that 38,4% of women have suffered psychological abuse by them. In addition, in the Coast, Mountain (Sierra in Peruvian Spanish) and Jungle regions, 39.7%, 43.8% and 45% of women respectively, reported having perceived jealousy in their couples while 29,7%, 44% y 47% of women in each of these regions respectively, reported having suffered psychological abuse by their couples.
