Infection by the SARS -CoV 2 virus, which causes the disease COVID-19 is characterized by a generalized inflammatory process that can complicate the clinical condition of the patient and lead to death. Objective: To relate the severity of pneumonia by SARS-CoV 2 (CRX score), with the glycemia value on admission in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method: observational, retrospective study, evaluating all hospitalized patients in the internal medicine service/covid Unit Hospitalization with type 2 diabetes and COVID-19 neumonia during the period march-september 2021. Results: 62.9% of the patients presented altered blood glucosa with an average of 24201368, it is evidente that the CRX score was lower in subjects with normal glycemia at the time of admission compared to those who were altered (P0.05), hower, the metabolic control evaluated through HbA1c was not significant in the score. CRX score, Although the severe group was slightly older. Conclusion: Admission hyperglycemia is an important risk factor in the clinical presentation of lung involvement in patients with SARS-CoV 2. ITt conditions a wore clinical and intrahospital evolution.
