The COVID-19 pandemic has promoted the appearance of new pedagogical strategies at schools, pre-university programs and universities as a consequence of the migration to a complete distance education process for about two academic years, modifying the teaching-learning strategies. This has forced us into a virtual environment, to which the current generation of students and future university applicants are accustomed, since they make use of technology, not only as a means of entertainment, but also for communication and receiving information. The tools of the digital world belong to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that can be used by educational institutions as a means that favors the construction of new academic content and complements traditional strategies. A tool provided by ICT is the podcast, audio files of variable duration where a specific topic is exposed. There are universities that use it as support for theoretical classes. In Peru, its effectiveness is just being analyzed in some study centers, however, its impact has not been evaluated at the level of science courses such as biology. This work proposes the use of the podcast as a teaching tool for the biology course at the pre-university level with the aim of improving its understanding.
