Material and method: Study with a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 42 women diagnosed with breast cancer who attended the HCH medical oncology service. The total female population that met the selection criteria was considered. It was found that the mean of the type of active coping was 35.98 (SD=5.75) where its active strategy (Me: 6.0) was the most used and humor (Me: 2.0) was the least. employee; while the mean of the type of passive coping was 35.02 (SD=4.15) being the most used strategy of religion (Me: 8.0) and the least used substance use (Me: 2.0). Conclusion: the participants do not use a single type of coping, they use various strategies, both active and passive coping.
