Background: Anemia is still affecting the population under 3 years of age, which is why it persists as a public health problem in the country. And this, because of the effects it generates in the phases of growth and development. This condition can be prevented with the development of educational interventions on adherence to anemia treatment with iron supplements. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of an educational nursing intervention in mothers on adherence to treatment with iron supplements in children 6 to 36 months of age with iron deficiency anemia in a 2021 health center. Material and method: Quantitative approach of pre-experimental design. The population and sample consisted of 30 mothers of children with iron deficiency anemia. An instrument consisting of 13 questions, validated by Casas, V. through the Kuder Richarson coefficient statistical test with a result of 0.99.rf2'0. Results: The variability in adherence was different and statistically significant, because before the educational nursing intervention 100% of the mothers did not achieve adherence, however, after the intervention the level of adherence increased to 70%. Conclusions: The educational nursing intervention in mothers of children diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia between 6 and 36 months was effective by demonstrating an increase in the level of adherence after the intervention.
