The objective of the study was to describe the potential risk of entry of exotic diseases through the transfer of domestic cats to Peru during the period 2009 - 2018. The cat entry registry requested from the National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA) was used. The entry of cats to Perú has increased and the origin of felines was mainly from South America (44.3%) and North America (28.7%). The largest number of cats came from the United States (1,061), Spain (511), Chile (489), Argentina (468), Colombia (308), Venezuela (294), Brazil (173), Mexico (140), Italy (131) and France (111). The main entrance registration points were the International Hall – Airport (49.7%) and the Air Control Post of the Constitutional Province of Callao (45.2%). During the study period, December (13.2%), January (8.6%), July (8.5%) and August (9.7%) were the months with the highest number of cats entering Peru. The bibliographic review finds that the exotic diseases that threaten Peru due to the origin of the cats would be Spotted Fever, Leishmaniosis, Sporotrichosis and Pasteurella multocida. The study provides information that allows warning of the possible entry of exotic transboundary diseases through the movement of cats from different countries of the world to Peru.
