Background: Several authors agree that people have little and erroneous knowledge about the requirements of blood donation, they also demonstrate the existence of a relationship between knowledge and donation, therefore the level of knowledge plays a crucial role, because if there is a shortfall, future donors are likely to be deemed unfit. Objective: Describe knowledge level of blood donation requirements in first- and second-year Medical Technology students at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in 2021. Methods and Materials: Descriptive and cross-sectional study. The instrument was an adapted and validated virtual questionnaire with 24 knowledge questions and 6 sociodemographic questions. Validation was performed using expert judgment and Aiken's V coefficient was determined at 0.93 (acceptable) and CVR equal to 0.93 (acceptable). The sample size was 164 students and the level of knowledge was considered as a dependent variable. Data analyzes were carried out using Stata version 14 statistical software. Results: 172 students were surveyed, the female gender predominated with 73.83% (n=127) and the mean age was 19.95 ± 2.4 years. On the other hand, 63.95% (n = 110) of the participants had a low level of knowledge. Conclusions: The knowledge level that prevailed in our study was low, therefore, specific strategies should be designed to increase students' knowledge.
