The aim of this study is to evaluate the vertical position, mesio-distal inclination and Nolla stages of canines, premolars and 1st permanent molar in cases with premature loss of deciduous teeth in the hemiarch of children in the first phase of mixed dentition and compare them with the control hemiarch (without teeth loss). A group without loss of deciduous teeth in both hemiarches was used as a neutral control. Of 757 cases with panoramic radiographs, 146 were selected that fulfill the inclusion criteria; they were distributed in 30 totally healthy cases and 116 cases with unilateral loss of at least one deciduous tooth. Vertical position, anteroposterior position, major axis tilt, and Nolla stages of canines, premolars, and first permanent molar were evaluated using Sidexis 4 for Windows software. For the statistical processing of the data, the SPSS software version 21.0 for Windows was used. To evaluate the normality in the distribution of the values, the Kolmogorov-Smirnoff test and the Levene test were performed to determine the homogeneity of variances; Thus, it was determined that the comparison for related samples would be made using the student’s "t" test and the Wilcoxon rank sum test in some cases; For the Nolla stage variable, the Spearman correlation test was used due to its qualitative nature. The results show that under normal conditions there are no differences in the aspects evaluated between both hemiarches; However, the loss of deciduous teeth produces significant changes in dental inclination and migration towards occlusal of permanent germs, likewise, an apparent migration towards distal; being greater the changes when more than one deciduous tooth is lost in the hemiarch.
