Analysis of evidence: The articles used in the review demonstrate a high level of prevalence of dental caries in children below 12 years of age in Peru, ranging from 90% to 94.3% in the last 12 years, with a tendency to increase with age. Conclusion: Despite public health strategies to improve oral health in the last twelve years, the high prevalence of dental caries persists in children below 12 years of age in Peru, associated with factors such as age, sex, lifestyle and socioeconomic level, generating a great impact on their dental health and quality of life.
