Background: In Peru, seasonal influenza vaccination status in healthcare workers remains unexplored in recent years, including those affected by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Objective: To explore the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the vaccination status against seasonal influenza 2020 in health care workers of a tertiary hospital in Lima, Peru. Material and methods: Cross-sectional study using a virtual survey between August 03 and October 05, 2021. First, the proportions of influenza vaccination status between 2019 and 2020 were compared. Then, sociodemographic, occupational, behavioral and COVID-19 epidemiological characteristics along with the previous seasonal influenza vaccination status were described. Furthermore, associations with seasonal influenza vaccination status 2020 were sought. Results: Of 1391 health care workers, a response rate of 15.7% was obtained. The frequency of vaccination against influenza was 66.9% in 2019 (pre-pandemic) and 61.9% in 2020 (during pandemic), with no significant difference between both years (p=0.076). Nevertheless, 51.5% of those vaccinated, listed the COVID-19 pandemic as a reason for getting vaccinated against seasonal influenza 2020. Having been vaccinated against influenza in 2018 (p=0.003) and 2019 (p <0.0001) were the only factors associated with seasonal influenza vaccination status 2020. Conclusions: The COVID-19 pandemic did not have an impact on self-reported seasonal influenza vaccination coverage in healthcare workers at Cayetano Heredia Hospital.
