Background: Lack of physical activity has a negative impact on health worldwide, generating risks of suffering noncommunicable diseases in the long term. This study had as population human medicine students of a private university in Lima, who perform academic activities virtually because of the current situation due to COVID-19, being these highly demanding. Implying that they remain more than 6 hours sitting per day; modifying their lifestyle and increasing the risk of unhealthy habits. Material and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted, with a non-probabilistic sample of 133 students. The international physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ-SF) was used and the data obtained were analyzed in the Excel program version 2016 and the Stata software version 2014. Results: Based on our studied sample, it was obtained that 42.9% of human medicine students presented a high level of physical activity; 38.4% a low level of physical activity and 18.8% a moderate level of physical activity. Conclusions: Medical students from the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University reported having performed a higher proportion of high physical activity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
