The present work of professional sufficiency deals with the university tutoring program for a student enrolled under the condition of high risk (enrollment for the third time in a course that has failed twice before and enrollment in the fourth enrollment plan according to article 102 of the University Law 30220), where the difficulties that have influenced to obtain failing grades are addressed. The main objective was that the student avoids losing his student status at the university. The development of the theoretical perspective will be based on the review of academic documentation. For the collection of information, a qualitative methodology was proposed through the use of semi-structured interviews and observation. In the sessions of the university tutoring program, the student was provided with guidelines to implement study habits, organization and personalized strategies to tolerate frustration, face blocks in evaluations, avoid procrastination and question dysfunctional thoughts. According to the analysis of results it is concluded that, thanks to the sessions of the university tutoring program, the student D.H. passed his courses at high risk achieving a favorable change in the academic and personal environment.
