The present work of professional proficiency had as a general objective, to strengthen the cognitive skills of perception, attention and memory in a hospitalized adolescent, through the "I learn and develop my skills" program. The specific objectives were three: to improve the adolescent's cognitive skills in the area of perception: visual and auditory; enhance the adolescent's cognitive skills in the area of attention: selective, divided and sustained, and strengthen the adolescent's cognitive skills in the area of working memory. The case involved a ten-year-old adolescent with basic cognitive deficiencies. The techniques used were: play therapy, brain gymnastics and mnemonics, using activities according to the areas of intervention. Likewise, monitored indicators were created with an initial (pre-test) and final (post-test) evaluation sheet, a weekly evaluation sheet and a checklist per session. The program is of the case study type with a mixed method (quantitative and qualitative) and a pedagogical method with a participatory-individual learning type. It was concluded that, after the application of the program, the participant managed to achieve a higher score in the post test (18/18), reinforcing the areas of visual and auditory perception; selective and sustained attention; however, in divided attention it did not achieve the desired strengthening. On the other hand, the working memory area, after the intervention, progressively improved. No follow-up stage was performed.
