The present study intends to validate an integrative model in university students in order to explain social anxiety and other variables associated to this. Social anxiety is understood as the fear of speaking in public, being judged by others on their performance seem ridiculous and bad. Irrational beliefs are distorted thoughts that are not beneficial are persistent errors in the way of thinking. Procrastination is another variable included in the study, which consists in postponing activities. The research’s main goal was to make a contribution in the reduction of social anxiety in students, because it clarifies the internalized social work of the student and determines the existence of anxiety as well as its solutions.Social anxiety and procrastination were determined as the external variables while irrational beliefs and distorted thoughts, the internal variables. The sample consisted of 700 university students from a private university in Lima. Four validate instruments were used in order to obtain the data: The Case A-30 Social Anxiety scale, irrational beliefs inventory, automatic thoughts inventory and the procrastination scale. The research is inserted within a basic descriptive level and has a multivariate correlational design. Structural equation models were used to examine the proposed integrative model. Results indicate a good fit index of the integrative model, (GFI: 0.905, TLI: 0.918, CFI: 0.924 y IFI: 0.924). Results indicated that procrastination is associated to irrational beliefs (cov = -0.389, p valor de 0.013 < 0.05) and irrational beliefs is associated with social anxiety (cov = - 0.313, p valor de 0.000 < 0.05). Therefore, it is concluded that procrastination is associated with social anxiety mediated by irrational beliefs. In addition, significant positive correlations (1 to 1) were found between three variables. That procrastination is associated to irrational beliefs and irrational beliefs is associated with social anxiety. Distorted Thoughts are associated with procrastination, 0.58. Distorted thoughts are not associated with irrational beliefs, (cov = - 0.060, p valor 16 de 0.544 > 0.05).
