The objective of the study conducted in this project was to analyze and propose the improvement of the dispensing process through the use of virtual prescriptions in pharmacies and drugstores during the COVID-19 health emergency. The study was of a projective type with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 10 Pharmacists working in the company’s branches. Data collection was carried out through the application of a data collection sheet. As a result, it was found that only 10% of the company's pharmacies and drugstores receive virtual prescriptions. In addition, it was possible to design the dispensing process through the use of virtual prescriptions, taking as a reference the Manual of Good Dispensing Practices and studies carried out with electronic prescriptions in order to highlight the benefits of virtual document management. In conclusion, the design of the proposal seeks to optimize pharmaceutical care and improve current document management through the use of digital resources. Finally, it is suggested to evaluate in the future the systematization of the process through the use of the company's current server as a long-term project.
