Liquid chromatographs (HPLC) are analytical / electrical equipment widely used in the industrial sector for the identification and quantification of different organic compounds. The performance and efficiency of the chromatograph is related to the operational verification process which consists of a set of tests: repeatability test, carry over, linearity, A&B and C&D gradient, and finally, noise and drift test. Operational verification process uses a restriction capillary, which replaces the chromatographic column, and that until the end of 2020 the company Analíticos S.A.C used a capillary based on stainless steel. However, this type of material is fragile, high cost and not very versatile, which has made the operational verification process long and expensive, which is why the company Analíticos S.A.C opted for the search for a new material for the restriction capillary. An alternative is the use of polymeric restriction capillary based on Polyether Ether Ketone-PEEK because this material is less brittle and inexpensive. This work will focus on the description of the operational verification process in an Agilent technologies model 1200 HPLC equipment making use of a metallic and a polymeric restriction capillary, to show the results obtained from the tests carried out. According to the tests carried out, it was determined that the values obtained with both restriction capillaries comply with the specifications established by the manufacturer, so that the polymeric capillary can replace the metallic capillary to execute the operational verification process.
