Background: Difficulties are presented in accessing oral health services, especially, older adults, due to various factors; socioeconomic level, region, ethnic group, and others. Objective: To determine the association between ethnicity and access to dental services in older adults aged 65 years in Peru in 2018. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional, retrospective, observational and analytical study. The sample was obtained from the 2018 Demographic and Family Health Survey database; with a total of 4935 records of people over 65 years of age. The study variables are: dental care, place of care, ethnicity, health insurance, institution to which the insurance they have corresponds, pension 65, wealth index, region, area of residence, natural region, place of residence, sex and age. A descriptive and bivariate analysis was performed with the Chi-square test; for the multivariate analysis, a multivariate logistic regression was applied to obtain Prevalence Ratio (PR) and Adjusted Prevalence Ratio (RPa). The significance level was 95% and p<0.05. Results: We found that ethnicity was not associated with access to dental services with reference to mestizos (PR: 1.03; 95% CI: 0.97- 1.10). Conclusions: No association was found between ethnicity and access to dental services in adults over 65 years of age in Peru, 2018.
