The Perceived Social Support Scala was validated. The study sample was of 435 scholar adolescents from ages ranging from 12 to 17 years old of the San Martin de Porres district. Results indicate that on the item’s analysis, everyone reported item-test correlation coefficients higher than .40, which indicates the contribution of each one of the scales. The content validity by the method of the criteria of judge’s evaluated the 12 items, obtaining the V of Aiken coefficient from .80 to 1.00; explaining effectively that the scale measures the theorical domain related to the perceived social support. The construct validity can validate the theorical model of the scale confirming the 3 factors Friends, loved-one and Family: explaining the 67% of the total variance. The reliability by temporal stability obtained of ICC of .56 and the internal consistency an acceptable ordinal alpha coefficient of .86, indicating the ability of the scale to capture the trait as well as the stability of the scores. It is concluded that the scale present acceptable indexes for item’s analysis, reliability and validity, managing to measure the construct of the perceived social support.
