This research seeks to validate the psychometric properties of the instrument for the measurement of Empowerment in Women - IMEM created by Hernández and García (2008), in a sample made up of 165 women whose ages fluctuate between 18 and 60 years, who belong to organizations of base of the Province of Sullana - Piura. This research of psychometric design and non-experimental type, uses an intentional non-probabilistic sampling. Regarding the results, the following is obtained: the adaptation of the original instrument in three factors, obtaining at the Content Validity level an agreement index of 1.00, a significance of 0.001 and an Aiken value of 1.00; Regarding Construct Validity, a KMO index = 0.919 is obtained, values χ² = 1748.0 with 561 degrees of freedom, a p-value = 0.000 and 3 factors with an explained variance of 54.65% by polychoric matrices. At the level of reliability, a value of ω 0.869 is obtained and values that fluctuate between ω 0.664 to ω 0.885 for the 3 factors. Regarding stability - test retest, a correlation coefficient of 0.506 and a significance of 0.004 were obtained. The percentile scales are prepared for each age group, classified into percentiles: Low, medium and high. Finally, it is concluded that the original Instrument for the Measurement of Empowerment in Women (IMEM) does not comply with the psychometric properties of construct validity and reliability in the study population, so it is adapted.
