Introduction: Nowadays there are chatbot systems that execute conversations with multiple user on simultaneous. Unfortunately, there is small research about the use on health sector and research. Objective: Evaluate the usability of a Chatbot in the monitoring of adherence to a treatment and adverse effects in a clinical trial in Peru. Methods: This is a usability study. The chatbot was implemented and at the end of the study, the participants and the monitoring team were invited to evaluate the system with “System Usability Scale”. Also, chatbot metrics were collected. Results: 40 participants evaluated the system. 3526 interactions were taken (86.6% were successful) and 2219.82 hours of work were saved on monitoring and data collection thanks to the automated data send and registration The average usability score was 78.25 (“Acceptable”) and there were no significant differences from social-demographic characteristics. The monitors rate the system with a 71.7(“Acceptable”) Conclusion: This kind of systems(chatbots) are welcomed and could be tailored and be used more frequently on research and another health sector tasks that require symptoms and adherence monitoring, like chronic and other diseases.
