This study corresponds to the systematization of the Accreditation experience of the Pharmacy Technician Career at the María Montessori Higher Institute of the city of Arequipa carried out in 2014 and 2015. The objective of the research was to publicize the accreditation process by the National System of Evaluation, Accreditation and Certification of Educational Quality (SINEACE), describing the previous stage, self-evaluation, external evaluation and accreditation, identifying the results and lessons learned. This work assumes the qualitative paradigm and methodology of systematization of experiences. Information has been collected from direct sources (managers, teachers, workers and students who participated in the accreditation) using the interview technique, from indirect sources (documents related to experience) which were reviewed using the technique of documentary analysis and then processed, analyze and systematize the information. The accreditation began with the sensitization and training of the entire educational community, forming the Quality Committee who led the process, the institution evaluated itself in each standard, the improvement plans were implemented and executed, the evaluating entity was selected, and proceeded to the external evaluation where all participated actively obtaining as a result the accreditation of the three-year degree. Once the accreditation is completed, we learned that the results are obtained when there is commitment and participation of all educational actors, that managers must be willing to invest in education, that the means of verification for external evaluation must be well organized and ordered, that the Accreditation improves the quality of the institution, and that the quality committee must continue with its work, even if the accreditation has been completed. It is concluded that the accreditation generates a significant advance of the institution in all its aspects, that all of them have incorporated the concept and quality processes into their educational practice, which shows a high commitment to continuous improvement to maintain results. Higher education institutions are recommended to take on the challenge of accreditation, to train and apply the self-evaluation and improvement processes, complying with the standards; also, that SINEACE make a wider dissemination of the accreditation process, train, and monitor accredited institutions.
