The process of growth and development of children during the first years of age is important for the strengthening of their physical and intellectual abilities, thus obtaining a good development of the human being. Objective: To determine the sociodemographic profile of primary caregivers and the psychomotor development of preschool children of an Initial Educational Institution, Independencia- 2019. Materials and methods: Quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 65 preschoolers (3 to 5 years) and the sample of 56 preschoolers with their respective primary caregivers. Data collection was carried out using a sociodemographic record of the primary caregiver, taking general data from each participant and a test for the psychomotor development of preschoolers (TEPSI). The information was processed in a database for analysis in the STATA/ SE 15.0 program. Results: It was evidenced that 71.43% of the children presented normal psychomotor development and 28.57% at risk. Likewise, 82.14% of primary are young adults, 82.14% live together, 41.07% have a complete secondary education, 67.86% are housewives, 66.07% have prefabricated houses, 50% have all basic services, the 82.14% are nuclear families and 30.36% have a child. Conclusion: The performance of preschoolers in psychomotor development, according to the areas evaluated, presented a higher percentage of an adequate level according to their chronological age.
