Diabetes Mellitus is a well-known chronic illness which presence in our society keeps growing day by day. This condition is characterized by a higher glucose concentration in blood; also known as hyperglycemia. The complexity of this illness lies upon its etiology, the reasons of its development are quite diverse, known as multicausal. This hinders the process of diagnosis and treatment, which leads to a series of comorbidities that reduces significantly the patient´s life expectancy and quality. On the brighter side, thanks to different studies there is already a standard procedure to follow with this patient, that will ensure their well-being and glycemic control. During COVID-19 pandemic, the need of use Communication and Information Technologies in health has increased, not only as a prevention but also as a resource of treatment and rehabilitation for patients with chronic diseases, such as Diabetes Mellitus. This disease is considered to be one of the most common comorbidities that increases the possibility of fatal endings on COVID -19 patients, therefore the need to minimize their exposure to the virus The main subject of the present research is to carry out an estate of art on telemedicine as a treatment strategy for a correct management of Type ll Diabetes Mellitus patients in times of COVID – 19 pandemic. As well as to introduce the different diagnosis criteria and treatment strategies in Diabetes Mellitus.
