In recent years, information security has gained considerable importance in the field of international business, particularly in the supply chain of copper mining exporting companies. Protecting sensitive data and ensuring efficient operation in these processes have become crucial aspects. Although cybersecurity, in a general sense, encompasses the protection of computer systems and networks, this study focuses specifically on information security. This approach considers its three fundamental dimensions: confidentiality, integrity and availability, and explores how these dimensions impact the supply chain of copper mining exporting companies during the period 2020-2023, covering the supply, manufacturing and distribution processes. To develop this research, a quantitative approach was applied with a causal correlational scope and cross-sectional design. The questionnaire used as a data collection instrument was validated by three experts: one methodological, one academic and one from the mining sector. 14 mining companies that exported during the period 2020-2023 were surveyed, obtaining a total of 38 responses. The chosen instrument was evaluated using Cronbach's Alpha, which resulted in a value of 0.95, indicating excellent reliability and consistency of the questionnaire. The findings obtained allowed us to reject the null hypothesis (H0) and validate the alternative hypothesis (H1). It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between information security and the supply chain in mining companies exporting copper during the period studied, since a Spearman coefficient of 0.495 was obtained.
