Burnout académico y compromiso académico en universitarios de Lima Metropolitana durante el 2023

Abstract

El objetivo general de la presente investigación fue relacionar el burnout y el compromiso académicos en universitarios de Lima Metropolitana durante el 2023. Se contó con una muestra 226 universitarios. El nivel fue correlacional, el diseño no experimental-transversal y el tipo cuantitativo-básico. Los instrumentos usados fueron el Inventario de Burnout de Maslach - Student Survey (MBI-SS) y la Escala de Utrecht de Engagement Académico (UWES-S). Los resultados mostraron que sí existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre el burnout y el compromiso académicos, con una relación negativa o inversa moderada. Así también, las dimensiones dedicación, vigor, absorción correlacionaron con agotamiento emocional y eficacia académica, donde cinismo solo correlacionó con dedicación. Con respecto a los hallazgos comparativos, la variable sexo no tuvo diferencias ni en burnout ni en compromiso, mientras que, la variable edad sí tuvo diferencias con las dos variables principales.

The general objective of this research was to link burnout and academic commitment in university students in Lima Metropolitan Area during 2023. The sample consisted of 226 university students. The level was correlational, the design was non-experimental-transversal and quantitative-basic. The instruments used were the Maslach Burnout Inventory - Student Survey (MBI-SS) and the Utrecht Academic Engagement Scale (UWES-S). The results showed that there is a statistically significant relationship between academic burnout and academic engagement, with a moderate negative or inverse relationship. Moreover, the following dimensions: dedication, vigor, and absorption correlated with emotional exhaustion and academic efficacy, whereas cynicism only correlated with dedication. Regarding the comparative findings, the gender variable did not show any difference in burnout or engagement, while the age variable did show some differences in the two main variables.
