The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between locus of control and attributional optimism in young university students who created their entrepreneurship in the context of the social and economic crisis after the Covid-19 pandemic. As well as identifying the predominant dimension of the variables in university entrepreneurs. In this sense, a descriptive correlational design was followed. For the selection of the sample, non-probabilistic sampling was used, for convenience, and was made up of 128 young Peruvian university entrepreneurs, residents of Metropolitan Lima, who have a non-inherited business, with a maximum tenure of 45 months, and whose ages range between 20 to 33 years old (M= 24.5; SD= 2.49). For data collection, the Rotter Locus of Control Scale adapted in Peru and the Attributive Optimism Scale (EAO) were used. Regarding the results, it was found that there is no correlation between the locus of control and attributional optimism variables, nor between the locus of control and each of the attributional optimism dimensions. It was also found that there is a tendency for entrepreneurs to be characterized by the internal locus of control and optimism prevailing in them. In conclusion, the findings suggested that there is no correlation between the variables, and that they are independent constructs. Entrepreneurs achieve success thanks to the set of unique characteristics of entrepreneurial personality, however, both features, locus of control and optimism do not necessarily have to be present. Despite being important characteristics to develop in entrepreneurs who want to create business in times of crisis.
