This research report was carried out at the Professional School of Statistics of the National University of Trujillo in 2021, in order to identify and understand in depth the personal factors that affect academic performance, since leaving aside the traditional conception , learning can occur in different ways, where students can identify their skills and abilities as well as their difficulties, as long as they achieve a balance between the factors that intervene in their personal and academic life, given that a state of Personal satisfaction will allow students to increase their productivity in their academic performance. Thus, this thesis is focused on seeking the continuous improvement of academic performance in university students, taking into account the relationship it has with personal factors. The present study was carried out with a sample made up of 65 students from the School of Statistics of the I and III cycle, from a quantitative perspective. The results found indicate that personal factors such as motivation, self-concept and psychological well-being influence students to obtain good, bad or average academic performance.
