The objective of this research was to determine to what extent the comic resource improves reading comprehension of texts in third grade students of Primary Education at the Educational Institution No. 81011 "Antonio Raimondi" of Trujillo in the year 2022. The research has an applied level study and a quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental design, having a sample of 46 participants of the third grade, being the control group 3rd grade "C" and the experimental group 3rd grade "D". The technique used was the survey using as instrument the test "We evaluate our reading comprehension", which was validated through the expert judgment technique and processed in the Aiken V calculation method, likewise the reliability was determined by means of the Kuder Richardson technique obtaining a value of (0.822) evidencing that the instrument is reliable. The results obtained showed that the students had a significant improvement in text comprehension; however, these data were processed by means of the SPSS program version 25 using the Mann Whitney U hypothesis test, obtaining a p value of (0.000<0.05), accepting the research hypothesis. In conclusion, it was determined that the comic book does significantly improve reading comprehension in third grade students, as well as in its literal, inferential and critical dimensions.
