The present research Workshop, Ñawiriy, to improve reading comprehension in first-year high school students of the I.E. "Jesús Nazareno", Chocope, had the general objective of demonstrating that the Ñawiriy workshop significantly improves reading comprehension in first-year high school students of the I.E. “Jesus Nazareno”, Chocope – 2022. The research arose from the needs of first-year high school students regarding the low level of reading comprehension. The population was made up of 92 enrolled students. The intentional non-probabilistic sampling technique was used and the sample was made up of 24 students: 12 men and 11 women, from the 1st year classroom “Mariano Melgar” of the I.E. “Jesus Nazarene.” The research was Quantitative-Applied, with a Pre-experimental design. The technique used was direct observation and the instrument was the reading comprehension test, with the dimensions: anteroom, reading path and learning rains. The results achieved in the pre-test showed that 22% of the students obtained a level at the beginning and only 74%, on average. But, in the post-test, 65% reached an achieved level and 35% in process. In conclusion, an improvement in the students' reading comprehension is evident, and this is due to the application of the proposed workshop.
