Abstract: El objetivo del trabajo es determinar la incidencia del gasto social en la desnutrición crónica infantil del Perú 2008 - 2021. La metodología utilizada se enmarca en un enfoque no experimental de naturaleza cuantitativa, de carácter longitudinal y con un enfoque explicativo. Los datos utilizados en este estudio fueron obtenidos de dos fuentes principales; la Consulta Amigable del Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas (MEF) y el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI). Se aplicó un modelo de vectores autorregresivos (VAR), considerando la desnutrición crónica infantil como la variable dependiente y el gasto social como la variable independiente. Los resultados finales del estudio indicaron que el gasto social incide positivamente en la reducción de la desnutrición crónica infantil en el Perú.
ABSTRACT This research aimed to determine the incidence of social spending on chronic child malnutrition in Peru 2008 - 2021. The methodology used is framed in a non-experimental approach of quantitative nature, longitudinal in nature and with an explanatory approach. The data used in this study were obtained from two main sources; the Friendly Consultation of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). A vector autoregressive model (VAR) was applied, considering chronic child malnutrition as the dependent variable and social spending as the independent variable. The final results of the study indicated that social spending has a positive impact on the reduction of chronic child malnutrition in Peru.
