The objective of this research was to isolate diazotrophic Bacillus spp. from the rhizosphere of Opuntia quitensis "tuna silvestre'' from the Private Conservation Area Lomas del Cerro Campana Trujillo-Peru. For this purpose, rhizosphere samples were collected from 15 specimens of O. quitensis. Initially, nitrogen-fixing bacteria were determined using the Most Probable Number (MPN) method and the biofilms formed indicating positivity were sown on plates with Nfb Agar, which were incubated at 30º C for 3 to 5 days. The isolated bacterial colonies were identified as belonging to the Bacillus genus through phenotypic tests and molecular analysis using 16S rRNA gene sequence B. megaterium, B. nealsonii, B. wiedmannii as the species isolated from wild prickly pear.
