ABSTRACT In Trujillo, sector 2, La Libertad, green areas are of great importance due to their environmental, economic, and social impact. An investigation was carried out focusing on analyzing soil properties in parks, including infiltration rate, field capacity, permanent wilting point, electrical conductivity, and soil density. An inventory of all parks in area 02 was also conducted. The main objective was to determine the physical and chemical characteristics of the parks in this area, as well as their agronomic design. Soil samples were taken at different depths and tests were carried out in the rural constructions laboratory of the National University of Trujillo. The results showed that the soils were predominantly sandy, sandy loam, and sandy clay loam, with an average bulk density of 1.41 g/cm³ and an average particle density of 2.38 g/cm³. The permanent wilting point was 6.82%. Regarding the chemical characteristics, the average soil pH was 7.594. The chemical characteristics indicated a pH average of 7.594 and non-saline electrical conductivity levels, favorable for plant growth. Regarding the agronomic design, the reference evapotranspiration (ETo) obtained from Senhami was determined by 4.37, with an irrigation depth ranging from 2.78 to 4.35 mm. The Rain Bird sprinkler model (HE-VAN) was selected for irrigation with a frequency of 1.5 to 2.60 days, with a coefficient of uniformity greater than 70% and an irrigation efficiency of 75%.
