The objective of this work was to determine the percentage of cultures of Pseudomonas aeruginosa producing Serine-beta-lactamases (SBL) and/or Metallo-beta-lactamases (MBL) through phenotypic tests, in cultures resistant to carbapenems, provided by two hospitals located in the province of Trujillo - Peru, in the period January - May 2022. Therefore, 82 cultures were collected, 48 from the Hospital de Alta Complejidad de La Libertad “Virgen de La Puerta” (HVP) and 34 from the “Hospital Belén'' de Trujillo (HB), which were evaluated if they were carbapenemase producers using phenotypic methods such as the Modified Carbapenem Inactivation Method (CIMm) and the Combined Disc Test (CDT). Using MICm, 16 carbapenemases-producing cultures were detected. And through CDT, 13 HB cultures were detected as producers of MBL and 0 cultures as producers of SBL; 3 (2 from HB and 1 from HVP) indeterminate cultures were also obtained. In conclusion, 16 cultures of P. aeruginosa producing carbapenemases were detected, of them, 15.85% phenotypically producing MBL, 0% SBL and 0% of the MBL/SBL co-production, provided by two hospitals located in the province of Trujillo – Peru, in the period January - May 2022.
