The present quantitative research, with a correlational design, cross-sectional with a quantitative approach, was carried out in school beneficiaries of the Rotary Club Huamachuco, Sánchez Carrión Province, whose objective was to identify the risk factors associated with the level of visual acuity. The population was made up of 100 schoolchildren, to whom a questionnaire Risk factors associated with decreased visual acuity and a registration form for the visual acuity of schoolchildren were applied. The information was processed and organized in tables, using the SPSS V26 statistical system. For the analysis of the variables, Spearman's correlation coefficient was used. The results indicated that 41.0% of schoolchildren were at medium risk level, 35% at high risk level and only 9% had low risk, the level The decrease in visual acuity was moderate in 39%, mild in 36%, normal in 20% and severe in 5%. It is concluded that there is a highly significant relationship between the risk factors and the level of visual acuity of said schoolchildren by virtue of Spearman's Rho 0.729, p < 0.01.
