ABSTRACT The general objective of the research was to determine the impact of the social responsibility practices of the mining sector on the reduction of poverty and social inequality in Peru in the 2012 - 2017. The methodology used in said research study has been the analytical method - synthetic and statistical method. The research design is Non-Experimental, longitudinal, descriptive. According to the results obtained in this research, it was concluded that there is no significant relationship between Social Responsibility practices in the mining sector and poverty in 2012 - 2017, with a correlation coefficient of 0.177, showing a low association between the variables. In relation to extreme poverty, a reduced association is also evidenced, the correlation coefficient being 0.214. It is also evidenced that there is no significant relationship between Social Responsibility practices in the mining sector and social inequality in the period 2012 - 2017, having as indicators the Gini coefficient and the human development index, the correlation coefficients being 0.002 and 0.030, showing a minimal association between the variables. The regions with the highest mining investment such as: Cajamarca, Huancavelica and Apurímac, Ancash and La Libertad are those with the highest percentage of the population living in poverty and extreme poverty. The areas that received the most investment as social responsibility practices in the mining sector are: local economy, local employment, basic infrastructure and education.
