ABSTRACT The present professional sufficiency report entitled “Technology-based Problem Managment: Three cases in Microfinance entities in La Libertad región” relates the use of technology in solving three of the most common problems faced by microfinance institutions (MFIs): risks related to dishonesty in collection management, optimization of credit promotion strategies, and the consistency of credit records with the substantive reality of the applicant. All of this is based on the author's work experience as a Manager at the Women in Action Association, the Leon XIII Savings and Credit Cooperative, and Edyficar-Mibanco Financial Institution. It demonstrates how the use of technology, allowed for significant improvements in the automation of operational work in the studied MFIs. The report concludes that while the solutions described for each issue mentioned above may have been correct at a specific moment, over time these solutions may have different facets of resolution, even quite distinct from the initial ones, but with a common element: technology. The aims is to motivate companies, particularly those linked in microfinance, to have a greater commitment to use technology for the managment of their businesses and move towards digitization.
