ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to qualify the grade D rooms of the non-sterile solids production area of a national pharmaceutical laboratory. The acceptance criteria of international standards were taken into consideration, where compliance with the specifications of the tests carried out in grade D rooms was established, both in rest conditions and in operation. Results of ≤ 30°C and ≤ 25°C temperature and ≤ 60% humidity were obtained, even reaching up to 80% for the reference specification; ≥ 0.02 inches of water pressure differential and ≥ 6 air changes per hour. Likewise, in the count of non-viable particles, values were obtained well below 3,520,000 particles/m3 for 0.5µm particles and below 29,000 particles/m3 for 5.0µm particles, with a microbial count < 80 CFU/plate for each room evaluated and < 100 CFU/plate for the locks (personnel and materials), and a recovery time ranging from 5 to 6 minutes was obtained in each room to recover its initial conditions. It is concluded that the manufacturing, cooling - selection and packaging rooms of the non-sterile solids production area is qualified for grade D or ISO 8 and are in optimal conditions to guarantee quality during the manufacturing of non-sterile solid products.
