The present is of a correlational type, developed with the purpose of identifying the relationship between age, sex, level of education, lifestyles, body mass index, degree of adherence to treatment, level of knowledge and the clinical results of antihypertensive treatment in patients treated at the Jerusalem - La Esperanza District Hospital, 2022. 110 patients, 66 women and 44 men, participated in this study. A validated questionnaire containing 71 questions divided into 5 sections was applied. The questions measure sociodemographic characteristics, lifestyles, clinical-medical data, degree of adherence to treatment, and level of knowledge about hypertension. Additionally, blood pressure, weight, and height were measured to determine blood pressure control and body mass index (BMI). It was found that 43.6% of the population corresponds to the age group between 66-75 years of age, 60% were women and 40% men, 84.5% have a primary education level and 30.91% of the patients They did not achieve control of high blood pressure. Age, sex, level of education, lifestyles, body mass index, adherence to treatment and level of knowledge are not statistically associated with blood pressure control in patients with antihypertensive pharmacological treatment.
