Abstract: Identificar las características clínico-epidemiológicas en pacientes con enfermedad diverticular (ED) en el Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo (HRDT) durante el período 2008-2023.
Materiales y métodos: Estudio descriptivo, transversal, retrospectivo. Se revisaron historias clínicas de pacientes con diagnóstico de ED del HRDT durante el período 2008-2023, se identificó las características clínico-epidemiológicas, para luego organizarlas en tablas y gráficos.
Resultados: 92 pacientes con diagnóstico de ED. La mediana de la edad fue 71 años, predominio en el sexo femenino (59.8%), no consumo de frutas y verduras (64.1%) y sedentarismo (77.2%). Acerca de las variables clínicas las que presentaron mayor frecuencia fueron la presentación de diverticulitis aguda (43.5%), como síntomas el dolor abdominal (72.3%) y la hematoquecia (48.2%), en las pruebas de laboratorio la leucocitosis (52.2%) y PCR elevada (93.1%), el método diagnóstico fue la colonoscopia (54.3%), la localización de divertículos en colon sigmoides (51.1%), episodios únicos de enfermedad diverticular (92%) y la duración de la hospitalización menor a 1 semana (62%).
Conclusión: Se reportaron 92 pacientes con ED, los hallazgos epidemiológicos más frecuentes fueron mediana de 71 años, el predominio del sexo femenino, bajo consumo de frutas y verduras, y sedentarismo. Los hallazgos clínicos más frecuentes fueron como síntoma principal el dolor abdominal y hematoquecia, leucocitosis, PCR elevado y localización de divertículo en colon sigmoides.
