The research was carried out at the industrial cyanide effluent treatment plant in the Coimolache mine, Hualgayoc, Cajamarca; The main objective being to know the effect of concentrations of 50 and 70% of hydrogen peroxide, on the detoxification kinetics of cyanide solutions, the dependent variable being the concentration of free cyanide in the tanks and the independent variable being the cyanide destruction time. free at an average basic pH of 10,3. The homogeneous catalytic reaction was carried out in two trains of 5 tanks each, having copper (II) as a catalyst initially as CuSO4.5H2O and then appearing in the same cyanide solution as CuCN, with a concentration of 7,618 ppm. The treatment was evaluated for 110,38 minutes, with a nominal flow for each train of 80 m3/h, with 450 RPM, at an operating temperature of 13,4 °C and a plant inlet concentration of 29,3 ppm of free CN. The concentrations at different degradation times of free cyanide to cyanate were evaluated, determining a zero order of the main reaction with copper as a catalyst, through its linear trend for the 70% treatment (dosage of 600 ml/min), the equation: [CN-] = -8,322E-06(t) + 0,001032 with its respective kinetic constant in units of mol/dm3 min, saving 36% of the dosage compared to 50% treatment.
