Abstract: El presente informe de investigación cualitativa descriptiva, tuvo como objetivo explorar el
cotidiano del cuidador familiar del paciente con esquizofrenia, se realizó entrevistas a 13
cuidadores de pacientes con esquizofrenia, la misma que se determinó por la saturación de la
información. Teniendo como abordaje teórico a la Teoría de los cuidados de Kristen Swanson
(1991), y de cotidianidad de Maffesoli (1998). Los datos fueron obtenidos a través de la entrevista
semiestructurada, siendo estos datos sometidos al análisis de discursos según Orlandi (2002). De
los resultados emergieron tres categorías, la primera: El significado de cuidar, con dos
subcategorías: la primera mantener las creencias y amor y la segunda subcategoría responsabilidad
moral, la segunda categoría: Cuerpo individual y colectivo y la tercera categoría: Re crear el
cotidiano del cuidador con dos sub categorías: la primera protección en el proceso del cuidar y la
segunda subcategoría incertidumbre y calma. En conclusión, el cotidiano del cuidador familiar del
paciente que padece esquizofrenia describe el significado de cuidar manteniendo responsabilidad,
sus creencias y el amor a su paciente en su individualidad manifestándose colectivamente lo que
le permite construir un sistema de protección al cuidar de la incertidumbre a la calma.
The objective of this descriptive qualitative research report was to explore the daily life of the family caregiver of a patient with schizophrenia. Interviews were conducted with 13 caregivers of patients with schizophrenia, which was determined by the saturation of the information. Taking as a theoretical approach the Theory of Care by Kristen Swanson (1991), and everyday life by Maffesoli (1998). The data were obtained through the semistructured interview, these data being subjected to discourse analysis according to Orlandi (2002). Three categories emerged from the results, the first: The meaning of caring, with two subcategories: the first maintaining beliefs and love and the second subcategory moral responsibility, the second category: Individual and collective body and the third category: Recreating the everyday of the caregiver with two subcategories: the first protection in the caring process and the second subcategory uncertainty and calm. In conclusion, the daily life of the family caregiver of a patient who suffers from schizophrenia describes the meaning of caring while maintaining responsibility, his beliefs and love for his patient in his individuality manifesting collectively, which allows him to build a protection system by taking care of the uncertainty calm.
