The Objective was to determine the proportion of people living with HIV and viral suppression after antiretroviral therapy at the Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias Regional Hospital between the years 2019 to 2021. Material and Method The research design was retrospective, observational and was carried out through the collection of data from the records of 140 PLHIV and verified with the virtual database of patients who entered the national antiretroviral treatment program. For the measurement of viral load, it refers to the use of the Genexpert automated molecular equipment for HIV-1, giving viral suppression values <40 copies/ml, which is the limit of detection. For the measurement of CD4 lymphocytes, the FACSVia equipment was used, which allows the typing of Τ lymphocytes by flow cytometry. The main Results were that PLHIV are mostly male (64.3%) and between the ages of 33 and 41 (95% CI), sexually and economically active. The PVV population is concentrated in the cities of the province of Maynas. The most commonly recorded comorbidity was Tuberculosis 13.6% and adherence in taking medications was essential for achieving viral suppression sustained over time. The medication with the highest adherence to PLHIV was Acriptega 60.7%, whose mechanism of action is to inhibit the HIV integrase enzyme, followed by Avonza 34.3% non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Conclusions, viral suppression for the year 2019 was 33.3%, for 2020 and 2021 it was 25.0% and 41.7% respectively, the goal of 90% proposed by WHO and UNAIDS of viral suppression was not achieved due largely to the pandemic. Covid-19 had consequences in the decrease in diagnostic tests, delay in the start of treatment delivery and the continuum of care for HIV patients in the Loreto Region.
