To prevent occupational accidents in the Irrigation System Improvement Work in Ite, a description of the organization began, where the location, the area of the project, the mission, vision and the processes that the work fulfilled were described. Furthermore, when a diagnosis of the current situation was carried out in compliance with the ISO 45001:2018 standard, it was found that there was 36% execution, with the continuous improvement clause being the most vulnerable with 28% compliance. To minimize the problem, it was proposed to design an occupational health and safety system based on the international standard ISO 45001:2018 in order to minimize risks and generate a positive impact on clients. The design covered the 7 clauses of the standard. Context, where a SWOT analysis was carried out considering the needs and expectations of the interested parties. Leadership, a Health and Safety Policy was created committing senior management to comply with safety guidelines. Planning, where hazards were identified and risks evaluated in order to take control measures. Support, where change control was designed for the documents and formats of the system. Operation, where safe work procedures for trenching and height excavation were developed. Performance evaluation, where a flow chart of monitoring, measurement and evaluation of the system was modeled and Continuous improvement, where accident investigation is carried out and observations or nonconformities are raised. From the proposed design, it was verified that the percentage of compliance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard is 97% and 100% of risks with an intolerable to important level were reduced, with which carrying out adequate supervision and taking control measures reduces the probability of suffering accidents on the job.
