The present research has addressed the problem of designing algorithms for solar detection, these systems are used to guide concentrating heliostats and take advantage of solar radiation in solar power plants, the objective of this research was to determine the influence of the implementation of a computer vision algorithm that uses the Hough transform, binarization and a shape analysis by regions of infrared images captured in the vault for the detection of the point of maximum solar infrared power in the city of Trujillo in 2022. The algorithm significantly influences the detection of points according to elevation and azimuth in precision and accuracy, with precision in elevation with a success of 95,5%, in precision and in detection of elevation and azimuth an average error of 3,72%. and 3,75 with Hough Transform and region analysis, compared to using LDR with an error of 21,56% and 20,76%, respectively. From the validation of this result, it was concluded that there is a contribution of new knowledge with the design and development of a new algorithm that can be used as a guidance system in heliostat fields or solar concentration fields.
