The present research aimed to determine the relationship between overprotection and autonomy in children at the Early Childhood Education level in educational institutions in the district of Trujillo, 2023. The issue arose through the observation of children who exhibited low autonomy. The research was framed in a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, of a basic nature with a quantitative approach and a descriptive-correlational level, considering a sample of 201 students and 201 parents. Two instruments were used for data collection: the observation sheet ""Habits of autonomy in early childhood education (cycle II)"" and the questionnaire ""Love or excessive care,"" both using the Likert scale.Statistical manipulation was carried out using frequency distribution tables, bar charts, and their corresponding interpretation. Regarding validation, the Spearman method was applied, obtaining rs = -0.267, with a p = 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a low negative and inverse relationship between the variable of overprotection and autonomy in early childhood education children. It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between both variables, highlighting the importance of providing relevant protection to help achieve efficient autonomy
