The present research study has been carried out with the objective of determining the relationship between emotional intelligence and meaningful learning in children from private educational institutions at the initial level of Trujillo, 2024. It is a basic type of research, with a correlational level, in its time had as a sample 274 boys and girls from private educational institutions at the initial level of Trujillo, 2024. For its execution, the observation technique was carried out for the two instruments. The instruments used are the observation guide and checklist, which were validated through expert judgment and have a reliability of 0.967 and 0.980 respectively. The results, after Sperman's correlational analysis, indicate that there is a highly significant relationship of (rho=.590; p<.01), direct and with a medium effect size between emotional intelligence and meaningful learning. In this way the null hypothesis is rejected and the research hypothesis is accepted. This demonstrates a highly significant direct relationship with a medium effect between emotional intelligence and meaningful learning. So, as a result, there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and meaningful learning, playing a fundamental role in the development of boys and girls, thus managing to work cognitively and emotionally together, applying different and innovative strategies that are striking and interest of the child when learning to achieve good, optimal and comprehensive development throughout their educational process
