The present research was proposed as a general objective, to determine whether the didactic strategies promote pre-reading in students, being a quasi experimental work, with two groups. The population was composed of two classrooms, the 5 year class “A” and class “B” totaling a total of 50 children, where the experimental classroom was worked with 23 children and control group 27 children. Where the “Heatmap to evaluate readiness in children 5 years old” was applied as an instrument before the program and subsequently applied post test. The results of the pretest indicated that students of the experimental group 4.3% were at the starting level, 91.3% were in the process, 4.3% achieved and after applying the program and performing the post test a 0% was obtained in the start level was managed to decrease in the level of process to 69.6% and increased to 30.4% students at the achievement level. The results were beneficial for the experimental group as a change and growth was seen in the children to whom the program was applied, having a contrast according to samples, in the comparison between study groups in the experimental group it was possible to observe that the significance is equal to 0,000, less than 0.05; meanwhile, the control group was evidenced by contrasting the applied tests that there is a significance greater to 0.05(Sig=0.109) and could state that there was no difference between the pretest and posttest. Concluding that by applying the program with the students they managed to benefit in a significant way for their improvement in their pre-reading skills
