This study supports the activities that were carried out as a Forestry Specialist for the company in DIPTERYX SAC and it had the purpose of generating economic resources in a forest plantation through the application of selective thinning. Work was done in the Central Jungle of the company in question, located in the district of Huancabamba, province of Oxapampa. The previous evaluation in the plantation resulted in: a single access road, 19.4 ha of surface area, deficiencies in maintenance, and having the current authorization from SERFOR with resolution REG No. 19-SEC/REG-PTL-2017-248. It began with the planning, coordinating with the Manager of DIPTERYX SAC and the owner. In the technical aspect, the percentage of thinning, type of timber products, design and implementation of a network of forest roads, and the operating personnel were considered; while in the economic aspect the extraction budget per load, the destination market and the sale price of the round wood were considered. The selective thinning worked in the methodology was 40%, 2 main forest products "long wood and short wood" were extracted, which allowed generating profitability and covering operating costs, where a total gross income of S/.147, 647,544 was produced, 63% of this amount represented the sale of short timber and 37% the sale of long timber. Fundo EL PINO SAC obtained a gross income of S/. 66,152.34, and DIPTERYX SAC, an income of S/. 81, 495.21, this amount covered operating and transportation expenses with a total of S/. 16,050.00 and S/. 25,800.00, respectively. In this sense, this work and other activities carried out, allowed to have a model of selective thinning with economic benefits and covering the operating costs.
