The objective of this research study was to determine the level of depressive symptoms in adolescents attending the El Pilar preventive obstetric center in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho. The sample was census-based and was composed of 50 adolescents between 12 and 19 years old. which were evaluated with the Childhood Depression Inventory CDI of Kovacs and Beck, adapted by Chauca, J., (2017). The type of research was descriptive, non-experimental design-cross section and quantitative approach. The results placed those evaluated at a moderate level (84%) of the presence of depressive symptoms. Likewise, in regard to its two dimensions, dysphoric mood (dysphoria) obtained a moderate level of 74% and negative selfesteem (self-depreciation) obtained a 66% moderate level. Concluding that, this is due to the influence of the genetic, environmental and personal factor, as well as Beck's (cognitive triad) negative view of himself, the world and the future.
